Software Developer/Group Leader
Job Description
Calsep A/S has a vacancy at its head office in Kgs. Lyngby for a software developer who after a 4-6 months introduction period can take over the leadership of a software development (IT) group with 3-4 developers. The group is responsible for a major redesign of the GUI of Calsep's primary software product, PVTsim, which software is used worldwide by the oil and gas industry in design and operation of pipelines and to develop improved oil production strategies. The current GUI is written in VB6 and C++, but is in the redesign process being converted to C#. The job hours will be shared approximately fifty-fifty between group leadership and software development.
Responsibilities as Group Leader
As group leader you will together with the head of the development of the simulation engine be responsible for the continued development of Calsep's suite of software. That includes critical evaluation of new software tools and programming techniques and possible porting of Calsep software products to new platforms. The clients are dependent on backwards compatibility, which must be taken into consideration in all development. The IT group is further responsible for deployment of Calsep software products.
Software Development Tasks
The software development tasks are highly diversified and include architectural design, programming of user controls, output handling and interfacing to a simulation engine coded in FORTRAN. Internal IT-support of the engineering team is another important task.
Your Background
You must possess high level programming skills and have experience with project management. Your background could be an M. Sc. Degree in software development and technology, computer science or similar.
